Year in Review 2012

Best Movie

It doesn’t really compare when there are five movies made prior to one specific movie to be made that it wont come out on top. I’m of course talking about The Avengers. Throw in the addition to the cast that played Iron Man, the Hulk, Captain America, and Thor, you throw in Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson you’ve got a guaranteed money maker. The funny thing was by the end of the movie the guy who you end up rooting for is Agent Phil Coulson.

Runner Ups: The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, The Hunger Games, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Best TV Show

Th TV show that i remember most wasn’t really a show, but the Jeremy Lin story could be made into a movie with what he did for the 28 Games he starred in during the 2011-2012 NBA season. In just over a month he went on to create his own era of basketball known as Linsanity and went from D-Leaguer to Star. It has been the only time in my life where i’ve actually been excited to watch a non Lakers basketball game and where people were clamoring to watch the Knicks play anyway they could.

Best Podcasts

I listen to a lot more podcasts than music today and so there are a few that i’d like to mention here.

  • Sporkful – Its not for foodies, its for eaters.
  • We’re Alive – A Zombie Podcast
  • ESPN: The B.S. Report with Bill Simmons – ESPN.com’s Bill Simmons talks about his favorite things in sports: the Celtics, the Red Sox, the Patriots and more. Plus, plenty of the top entertainers join him as well.

  • Nerd Poker – Each week, under dark of night, a group of warriors lead by Brian Posehn gather to play Dungeons & Dragons, and you€™re invited to attend!
