Night off in San Diego

Back in April we had our first night without Miss Alice to attend Chrissie’s (coworker) wedding down in San Diego. It was definitely a strange but welcomed weekend considering its been 18 months since she was born.

We dropped Alice off at my parents in the morning and we quickly headed out the door to get on the road. We arrived in San Diego around noon and stopped for lunch at searsucker a restaurant by Chef Brian Malarkey of Top Chef Season 3.

It was really fun to sit at some high tables, order some bloody marys and just enjoy ourselves. We ordered the mcPUFFin the morning and Shrimp and Grits. Both had some nice flavor and just bit a heat for the Shrimp and Grits.

We then checked into our hotel room at the W San Diego using our spg points, quickly changed into our outfits and hopped onto the MTS train down to Old Town San Diego. I know that Chrissie has been planning this forever, pulled out all the stops so we had to put in a little effort into our outfits as well. Thankfully while we found some outfits at the Thrift Store which looked perfect for the event.

This was probably the most interesting wedding i’ve ever been to. Chrissie had a band playing during the wedding, a mariachi band to lead the procession down to the reception, and a gun shoot out before dinner, and another live band performance after the reception and dinner.

Many other coworkers attended the wedding as well.

Jonathan helped build the photo wall, which turned out awesome.
