The East Bay

Joy was beginning her new Tuesday thru Saturday schedule so we decided to take advantage of a free three day weekend by taking a trip up to the East Bay. The trip didn’t start off so well again, this time because the day before our trip our van’s passenger window motor broke and did not want to roll up, but thankfully my parents let me borrow their van to take to the airport.

Southwest now flies out of the Long Beach airport which is awesome since its only 15 minutes away and getting through security is a breeze.

Leela has gotten to that annoying stage where she wants to move around all the time, but she found a spot between our legs to hang out and poop.

Once we landed in Oakland we got our rental car and met up with Nina at the Alameda ferry to take over to San Francisco. The kids had a blast hanging out on the top deck of the boat and enjoyed the boat ride.

I got to enjoy a porchetta sandwich from Roli Roti and some Secret Breakfast ice cream Humprey Slocumb while the kids got their soft serve from Gott’s Roadside.

After taking the Ferry back to Alameda we checked into our rooms and rested a bit before heading out to dinner at a Lao/Thai restaurant in Oakland that i found on some eater.com list, but i don’t know if it was an off night, or we just overwhelmed them by the amount we ordered because the food was just ok.

To finish our first day up north we hung out at Nina’s house so the kids could play. Peanut seemed pretty happy that he had somebody to play with since Alice and KK always leave him out of their play time.
