We’re going to Disney World!

Last summer while planning for our 10 Year Wedding anniversary we were deciding between going back to Hawaii or finally going to Disney World. After much debate and planning we decided to take our first trip to Disney World, and i was off to the races. I’ve been listening to the Mouse Chat Podcast for a few years now and knew the basic ins and outs of what to do and not to do but actually putting everything into motion was still exciting.

While i’m an uncertified expert of Disneyland i knew i was going to need to some help so i used the hosts of Mouse Chat as my travel agents to get my rooms, dining rsvp, and fast pass rsvp since all have to be done ahead of time, and by ahead of time i mean six months out for dining and two months out for fast pass reservations. Since the window opens up at 7am EST it only made sense for us to use a travel agent to deal with all of that for us, especially since we don’t pay them anything extra.

We planned to take a red eye out Sunday night and spend 5 days at the park leaving back home on the 5th day. I wanted to stay on property which gave us access to early rsvp times, and getting picked up by the Disney Magical Express. There are 3 levels of hotels ranging from Value, Moderate, and Deluxe which are basically double in price for each level.  I settled on POP Century which is what i’ve read is the nicest of the value resorts, and since i didn’t plan on spending too much time at the hotel while we were there. As for the parks our plan of action for the parks was two days at Magic Kingdom, and one day each at Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.

The last time i went to Disney World was back in 1988 when there was only Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and the most memorable things that i remember was that it was hot and humid, that Space Mountain sat differently, and that Epcot had a lot of movies. There are literally hundreds of places to eat, and dozens of rides to choose for your fast passes so even after our travel agent made our initial reservations i was online checking for different dining times and ride times to make it as efficient as possible so not to waste time criss crossing the park and taking into account our wake up and nap times.

In the end this was our entire schedule.
