Not much time to post on this particular blog anymore, but its that time for my annual year in review! [trumpets blare]
Best Movie
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The most anticipated movie of the year was able to live up to expectations. I was lucky enough to get invited for an opening night showing in 3D, and watched it a second time a couple weeks later.
While there are some flaws in the story, i thought overall it was a visually fun movie, and a good transition from the old cast to the new cast. The storyline could’ve used a little more updating, but i think moving forward there should be plenty of growth in terms of characters and plot direction.
Runners Ups: Jurassic World, The Martian
Disappointments: Avengers: Age of Ultron, Pitch Perfect 2
Best TV Show
Game of Thrones
A very strong beginning and end of season five of Game of Thrones kept me tuning every Sunday night to see who was dying and who would make it for season six.
Runner Ups: Silicon Valley, Fresh off the Boat, The Walking Dead
Best Meal
Napa Rose – Chef’s Counter
Dining at the Napa Rose was probably the fanciest dinner we had all year and was extra fun since it was at Disneyland. I thought all the food was interesting and fun, and sitting and talking with the chefs made the experience that much more different.
Runners Up: Azure, Old Homestead
Best Trip
Oahu, HI
It was so fun to have the whole family together for a week in Hawaii. The girls had a good time playing together along with the grandparents. We got to enjoy all our island favorites like oxtail ramen at Ramen Nakamura, and some new stuff like Marukame Udon, and the Pig and the Lady.
Runner Up: San Francisco, Carlsbad
Best Podcasts
Its always fun to find podcasts that expand on things that you’re already interested in and i’ve binged their podcasts retrospectives on the Marvel Universe, the Oceans 11 trilogy, and the Star Wars empire.
Runner Ups: Good Job Brain, MouseChat, The Lowe Post
Other Highlights
2015 ended up being a very interesting year to say the least.
We spent the majority of our free time at Disneyland making the best use of our annual pass which i’ll expand on in a later post.
3rd Place at this year’s Las Vegas Invitational Tournament
I ended up winning 1 of 2 Fantasy Football leagues. Big thanks to Julio Jones as my first round pick and Cam Newton who i picked as the 14th QB off the board in a 12 team league in the 10th round, DeAngelo Williams, and Tim Hightower who i picked up on the waiver wire runaway with victories in the playoffs.
